Privacy Policy

What we collect

We collect the information you provide directly: your email address, account password (stored as a secure hash), and the financial data you enter into the app — balances, transactions, bills, and categories.

We do not connect to your bank. We do not collect your bank credentials, account numbers, or any data sourced from a financial institution.

How we use it

Your data is used solely to operate the Threshold service for you. We use your balance, bills, and transactions to compute your safe-to-spend number, projections, and insights.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Data storage and security

Threshold stores data in Supabase (PostgreSQL), a managed cloud database. Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Row-level security policies ensure that each user can only access their own records.

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage and are never stored in plaintext.

AI coach data

When you interact with the AI coach, a summary of your financial context (current balance, upcoming bills, spending patterns) is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. This summary does not include your account credentials or personally identifiable information beyond what is needed to answer your question.

Anthropic's privacy policy applies to data processed by the Claude API. We recommend reviewing their policy at anthropic.com.

Cookies and analytics

We use session cookies to keep you logged in. We may collect basic anonymous analytics (page views, feature usage) to improve the product. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Data deletion

You may delete your account at any time from Settings > Account. Deleting your account permanently removes all associated data from our systems within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We will notify you of material changes to this policy via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
